Rock And Roll First, the carpeting...okay in fish language the gravel floor for the aquarium. There are plenty of colors to choose from but it would not matter as much because the gravel usually matches or complement the other decors in the tank. Be sure to clean these teeny-weeny rocks or stones before putting them in the aquarium, soaking the gravel in warm water is one way of making sure that the residual dirt and dust are completely removed from the gravel before putting it into the fish tank.
Plants And Weeds Second, the greenery...plants or weeds are good addition to the aquarium décor not only do they provide colors but it can be a source of nutrients for the fish that is if you would use the live ones. Although plastic weed and plants are also available and fine to use and easily maintained than the live plants but it is up to you which type you prefer. Make sure though that you will not overcrowd the space by putting too much weeds or plants that the fish had hardly enough area to swim around.
The Background Next, the wall décor, so to speak…to give your aquarium and your fish that “out in the ocean” feel a good background is essential. Choose one that will compliment the whole aquarium set up, from the type of plants you chose, to the color of the gravel as well as to the type and color of your fish. The background can be taped to the backside of the tank and it will add beauty to the aquarium décor.
Odds And Ends Finally, there are those ‘extras’ that you can add to the aquarium décor to make them look more beautiful and decorative, not to mention choosing them is a lot of fun. They are the odds and ends one can do and add to the aquarium décor. There are plenty of choices too, like treasure chests, ships, divers, small pagodas, and a lot more. You can play and have fun with these and of course your fish too…you can create your own scenarios. Again, don’t overdo it and overcrowd the tank with all these stuffs keep it all to a minimum and to what you think are essential part of your aquarium décor.
The possibilities are endless when it comes to setting up your aquarium décor, so many ideas to explore, so many unique, beautiful fixtures and structures you can put into your tank. Just remember, the aquarium is not only for you, to beautify your home and to help you relax at the end of the day but also for the resident of that tank…your fish. So allow him space to swim around and keep everything simple and nice. Don’t over decorate it, and use up all the available area or you might end up choking your fish with all those trimmings. Keep it simple, and keep it nice. Your fish will love it, your guests will love it and above all, you will love it
